As it will be raining rest of the week in Helsinki I probably can finish my bot. Have to do some extra stuff because they don't have any timestamp from what could easily check if match is too old (ie. already handled)

And this is actually possibility now. Got API access from Cyanide so don't need to deal with Toornament, which didn't work anyway. So expect to see some tweets in few days.

Also Finnish Broadcasting Company open sourced their bot that they use to report on ice hockey matches, at some point probably will look into if could combine that into my twitter bot but Big Bob should start reporting results in time for World Cup

Yesterday practically finished first version of our own twitter commentator (https://twitter.com/BigBob_of_112th), just need to get my twitter API keys etc which I did on my previous laptop. And then of course test that my setup works.

Code is in GitHub https://github.com/jarikujansuu/bb2 and ideas, suggestions and especially comment templates would be cool.

Templates are in https://github.com/jarikujansuu/bb2/tre ... /templates and original match data is mapped to used parameters in https://github.com/jarikujansuu/bb2/blo ... /writer.py, basically it just gets different parts and combines them. Later when get more elements I could see if combine them with some pseudo random way.

Example data what I get is in https://github.com/jarikujansuu/bb2/tre ... r/examples, currently I just use data from matches.json but could easily combine more detailed data from single match API. And of course there are endpoints to get competition related data, coming matches etc. And I think next step is that I start collecting the data so we will have history.

First comment are LIVE!

Big Bob should now check new matches every 3 hours and comment about them. But remember that he is ogre after all so at least in beginning his comments are quite limited.

I think i will love him !
