Yeah the whole BB 2020 book was leaked on the internet some days ago, so all these changes are pretty official.

I also quite strongly believe BB3 will follow this ruleset considering their failed announcement of BB3 last year: "Blood Bowl 3 will coincide with the release of the new paper edition in 2020". Which they deleted propably because GW had not themselves yet announced anything on the new edition.

I assume we will be hearing more during the fall.

Change of Rules are so drastic that it will become a new Game. So I would be surprised if BB3 can be ready in 2020.

I have mixed feelings : not sure I like the rule changes very much (Anti staling Rule is a big concern for me, also Gutter Runner remaining Good dodger but becoming incompetent passer, passer specialised either good at short pass or long pass but not both, pilling on and claw efficiency diminished ie no more use of claw when blitzing, etc....), and I am afraid that with BB 2 and BB 3 being two completly different games that the release of BB3 will fracture the community in a worse way even then it happened at the release of BB2.

I saw some videos regarding BB3 Leaks. One new skill I have noticed is passing the ball while still moving, in the same way of blitzing.

You also should be able without leap, to move over player who are on the ground and a rule where after the pass end up on the floor it is not a turn over (I still have not understood the condition but heard about it, could be some kind of Backward pass like in American football).

They also seems to have modfied the casualty table, which is said to be less deadly.

And there should be an anti stall rule : If You can score and stop moving despite being in scoring distance without having to throw a dice, ref can caught you and eject you (Roll a dice after the turn, player ejected on a 1). I hate that one. If it is confirmed, they better code that one very carefully in BB3....

Yeah, I guess this is what happened when they destroyed Warhammer Fantasy Battle and killed of the game completly and turned it into Age of Sigmar.... I played quite a lot Warhammer Fantasy over the years but by friends continues to play the old style of the game. None has gone over to Age of Sigmar.

Now there is rumours that they will bring WFB back, but who knows.

What would be the reasons for these drastic changes? I guess GW might have some concerns of not being profitable enough. With Tabletop it will still be possible to continue playing the old version as long as you want, but with the digital installment, that might not be possible.

I assume that Cyanide has had the new rules all the time. So they could be released on same date. But what surprises me that there doesn't seem to be any official information out there. Can't remember any computer game that haven't had advertisement campaign out long before game is actually released. So based on that I would be very surprised to see BB3 this year.

Then again if BB3 comes out what will happen to league? Who of us will get BB3 and who are happy to stay in BB2? New rules looked nice so I would be getting BB3 right away, but for some it could be the end as it is much easier to continue playing something you own than to spend money on new game.

Well necromunda will be released soon, and has been a long time without being advertised so you never know.

I am not sure when GW has finalised its new set rule, not sure they were ready when cyanide first start working on BB3.

A thing that really miss me is the shortkey : B for blitz action, L for leap action, P for pass... That was a great way to play faster than right click for me.

Cool new team! If I still had played TT this would be highly intresting to me. But I am still amazed that GW is releasing new stuff, teams etc, when its not 100% certain that this will be in the BB3 iteration of the rules. Also reminds me of how they treated WHFB. They pumped out new models and army books, ppl bought them, and the game was scrapped more or less at the same time.

However, could be intresting to pick up the latest version of the rules so that I could continue to play my old TT teams with some rules update. But that will be available on E-bay I would say for some time.
